Round Sognsvann
The classic Oslo lake loop at the end of the metro line – 3.3 kilometres of forest and water, and lit all the way round on dark November evenings.

| Distance | 3.3 km |
|---|---|
| Difficulty | Easy – a gravel path round the lake, made for walkers |
| Start | Sognsvann metro station (end of line 5) |
| Past | The south-end beach and lawns, The fishing jetty, tables and benches, Forest and the edge of Nordmarka |
| Season | All year. In winter the path is ploughed and gritted, and when the ice is thick enough the city prepares a skating rink and a walking track on the lake. Lights dim to half strength after 23:00. |
| With children | Open meadows for ball games, a free beach-volleyball court at the south end, toilets including an accessible one. The whole path is lit after dark. |
