Arev St. Tropez opened in 2024 on the Chemin des Vendanges, a quiet lane a seven-minute walk from Place des Lices, and set out to feel less like a new hotel than an old Tropezian house that simply reopened its shutters. Behind a façade of ivory stone and powder-blue shutters, Madrid-based designer Luis Bustamante dressed the place in a maritime palette of navy, white and red, running through 35 individually designed rooms and suites, many opening onto private gardens. There is no conventional front desk: arrivals are received on the terrace, an arrival that feels closer to a friend's villa than a check-in counter. At its centre sits a sun-drenched courtyard with a heated pool, and beyond it The Strand restaurant, revived as a Riviera institution for a new era. The MICHELIN Guide recognises all this with One Key, a small resort built to behave, deliberately, like somebody's very well-run house.

35 rooms and suites by designer Luis Bustamante, a heated pool, The Strand restaurant and a Maison ST spa.
01The house
Arev was built from the ground up in 2024, spread over two low-rise floors behind its gates rather than announcing itself to the street. The architecture and interiors are the work of Madrid-based designer Luis Bustamante, whose bold navy-and-white-striped scheme runs through the public rooms and bedrooms alike, with the occasional flash of red to complete the tricolour theme. Behind its powder-blue shutters and ivory stone façade lies a sun-drenched courtyard with a grand heated pool and the legendary Strand restaurant, reborn for a new era of Riviera glamour.
There is, pointedly, no formal reception; guests are welcomed on the terrace for a check-in that feels more like arriving at a friend's private villa, a detail the hotel treats as central to its own motto, A Rêve in the Sun. A short walk from the main house, an olive-tree-framed gathering spot called Place des Oliviers does for daytime what the restaurant and bars do after dark — a place for coffee, a game of padel, or simply to watch the DJ sets build through the afternoon.

02Rooms and suites
Arev's 35 individually designed rooms and suites are spread across five distinct residences, each with its own rhythm: La Maison, the main building, holds the bulk of the classic rooms and the signature AREV Suite; the Pool Villa's rooms open directly onto the water; a standalone Garden Cottage and a cluster of Garden Villa junior suites sit among the grounds; and La Maisonette en Pierre is a private two-bedroom villa for those who want more room to spread out.
Insider tipFree shuttle to town and Pampelonne Beach; book well ahead for July and August.
Beds are dressed in Hungarian goose-down duvets and pillows, with metallic four-poster frames in the more theatrical suites such as the Poolside Suite. In-room details run to Marshall Bluetooth speakers, Nespresso machines, minibars and Dyson hairdryers, and a Classic Room and a Junior Suite with Terrace are adapted for wheelchair users, with all communal areas accessible too.
03Where to eat
The Strand is Arev's answer to Saint-Tropez's beach-restaurant tradition, moved inland to the hotel's own courtyard. The kitchen builds its menu around locally sourced, seasonal produce and authentic Mediterranean flavours, with a fine wine list and live musicians carrying the room on past dinner. In October 2026 lunch runs from midday to 3pm and dinner from 7.30pm to 11pm.
The kitchen is led day to day by Head Chef Mohamed Abdéréman and Sous Chef Marco Volpi, working under the guidance of corporate chefs Rocco Seminara and Manon Santini; between them their backgrounds take in the Bagatelle Group and Cédric Grolet's pastry teams. The calendar beyond the regular menu includes a recurring Sunday brunch with a sweet-and-savoury buffet and live music, plus set evenings such as a Thursday raclette and an aperitivo hour.

04The bar
Q's Bar is the hotel's evening anchor, pouring serious spirits and sophisticated cocktails alongside a wide selection of fine cigars, in a room that carries the same navy-striped, red-tented decor as the rest of the house. By day, the Pool Bar takes over, serving signature poolside cocktails and snacks from The Strand's kitchen to guests stretched out around the water.
05Spa and wellbeing
The AREV Spa with Maison ST was created with the Tropezian artisanal skincare brand and features two treatment rooms fitted with water mattresses, a hammam and Contour Paris equipment for non-invasive facial and body treatments. Maison ST developed the treatment menu with Dr Harry König of World Spa Project, working only with natural, locally sourced ingredients — seawater, algae and marine sand feature across the body treatments — and guests can build a bespoke fragrance from one of four exclusive Maison ST perfumes.
Beyond the spa, the resort runs to a 15-metre heated pool, a night-lit padel court, and a fitness centre equipped with Technogym machines and Peloton bikes, open for use whenever guests need it rather than at fixed hours.
06The neighbourhood
Arev sits a seven-minute walk from Place des Lices, close enough to Saint-Tropez's cafés, boutiques and market square to arrive on foot, yet set back enough on its own grounds to feel apart from the village's summer crush. Rates include a shuttle service running guests into the centre of town and out to Pampelonne Beach, so a car is optional rather than essential; for those who do drive, outdoor parking at the hotel costs €40 a night, including valet.
07Making the most of a stay
Check-in is from 4pm and check-out at noon, both flexible subject to availability. A quiet pre-dinner hour at Place des Oliviers, a spa treatment built around Maison ST's marine ingredients, and a late table at The Strand once the live music starts are the three fixed points worth building an evening around.
