On a cliff above Limone sul Garda, EALA My Lakeside Dream descends toward the water in a run of glass and stone terraces, its 62 rooms arranged so that most open onto private balconies over Lake Garda's narrow basin. The name borrows the Celtic word for swan, chosen because the swan, which has always lived on the shores of Lake Garda, is considered a symbol of purity, sincere love and elegance, and was the inspiration for the hotel. The ground has a longer story: EALA stands on land the Risatti family has run with passion and entrepreneurial spirit for three generations, the property remodelled in 2021 from an earlier family hotel on the same site. The MICHELIN Guide has awarded the hotel Two Keys, crowning it among the best Italian hotels of 2025 and choosing it again for 2026, while its restaurant, Senso Lake Garda Alfio Ghezzi, carries a MICHELIN Star for 2026, cooked from a dining room cantilevered above the lake.

Terraced glass-and-stone hotel built into the cliffs north of Limone sul Garda, run by the Risatti family for three generations, with a 1,500 sqm spa.
01The house
EALA sits on ground the Risatti family has worked, helping over the years to turn Limone sul Garda into one of Italy's most visited lakeside towns. The hotel is built into the lakeside cliffs, entered at road level before stepping down floor by floor toward the banks of the lake, a construction that gives the building its layered, terraced profile. MICHELIN's own description of the mood is contemporary and quiet, with minimalist, modernist-inspired interiors throughout.
The hotel keeps the family's three generations of hospitality but reframes them for an adults-only clientele: guests under 16 are not accepted.
02Rooms and suites
All 62 rooms and suites take their names from Celtic culture — Albus, Nemos, Alisia, Argantos and Awen — and the top categories lean on large panoramic windows, outdoor air pools and private spas. Many have glass-walled bathrooms and in-room soaking tubs, and several come with private balconies across the terraced cliffside building, along with a steam room scented with lemon essence among the in-suite spa touches.
Insider tipAdults 16+; free shuttle to Limone centre; Senso restaurant takes outside bookings Tuesday–Sunday evenings.
03Where to eat
Senso Lake Garda Alfio Ghezzi is the fine-dining room, its dining hall suspended above the waters of Lake Garda next to an open kitchen, across two dining rooms wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass. Chef Alfio Ghezzi builds tasting menus around freshwater fish and the region's ingredients, in a style that is elegant, restrained in presentation and precise in technique; the menu is completed by three pairings — wine, beer, and fresh juices and centrifuged drinks — and closes with two tableside ceremonies, one for coffee, one for tea. In 2026 the restaurant was awarded a MICHELIN Star along with the Guide's Passion Dessert award, and it opens Tuesday to Sunday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, also to guests staying elsewhere.
The more relaxed Alfio Ghezzi Bistrot Lake Garda occupies a terrace over the lake, serving an à la carte menu of simple, detailed dishes built on local and Italian flavours, the daytime counterpart to Senso's evening formality.
04The bar
The rooftop Panorama Lounge Bar looks over the lake and turns to sunset mixology as the evening draws in, while by the water the Pool Bar serves the spa's heated infinity pool through the day.
05Spa and wellbeing
EALA Luxury Spa covers 1,500 square metres and is built around a heated outdoor infinity pool kept at 32°C and cantilevered over the lake. Indoors, guests move between a panoramic indoor pool at 32°C, a multisensory pool called "Breath of Garda" at 37°C, a Kneipp path and emotional showers, then into a sauna circuit running from a steam bath at 40–45°C and an ice room at 2–10°C to a Mediterranean sauna at 50–60°C and a panoramic Finnish sauna at 80–100°C, finishing on the sensory path called "Water Paradise" or in the quieter relaxation area named "The Nest".
Outside, the garden opens onto EALA's own private beach, and a Technogym-equipped gym completes the offer.
06The neighbourhood
Limone sul Garda sits on the lake's western shore, a village compact enough that its streets narrow to single file in summer. The hotel is close to the Ciclopista del Garda cycling path and within reach of the Malcesine–Monte Baldo cable car; the concierge can arrange boat trips to Riva del Garda, Malcesine and Torbole or, further afield, day trips to Trento or Verona.
07Making the most of a stay
EALA accepts guests aged 16 and over only, with check-in from 3pm and check-out at noon. A complimentary shuttle runs to Limone sul Garda's centre for anyone who prefers not to walk the lakeside promenade.
