On the fine sand of Pampelonne beach, a short drive from the turrets of Château de La Messardière, Jardin Tropezina lays its tables where a wood-and-plant garden-terrace runs down to the Mediterranean. The MICHELIN Guide describes an exquisite setting overlooking the sea, a luxury interior with silverware and Vallauris tableware, a large number of attentive staff, valet parking and even DJ nights. Since the summer of 2024 the kitchen has belonged to Michelin-starred chef Jean-François Piège, marking his return to Saint-Tropez thirty-five years after his first job on this coast. The address itself was reimagined by the French décor house iKKim'O, founded by Caroline Lissoir, who wove napkins, cushions, deckchairs and tableware by hand for the space. It is selected in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, one of the handful of beach addresses on Pampelonne to carry the distinction, a beach club that takes its garden seriously and its sunbeds even more so.

Wood-and-plant beach club on Pampelonne, decorated by iKKim'O, menu by Michelin-starred chef Jean-François Piège.

01The room and the setting

Jardin Tropezina occupies the stretch of Pampelonne where the pines give way to open sand, and the MICHELIN Guide notes the garden-terrace is dominated by wood and plants, with an exquisite setting overlooking the sea, a luxury interior with silverware and Vallauris tableware, a large number of attentive staff, valet parking on arrival and even DJ nights. The decoration was entrusted to Caroline Lissoir's house iKKim'O, which designed a bespoke collection of napkins, cushions, hand-woven deckchairs and tableware for the address. The result is a delicately coloured space built around a wooden deck, with climbing, flowering plants threading through the structure. Ramatuelle's own tourist office lists two dining rooms and one air-conditioned room, with capacity for 240 covers, 140 of them on the open terrace.

02The chef

The menu is signed by Jean-François Piège, chef of the two-MICHELIN-starred Le Grand Restaurant in Paris, as well as L'Épi d'Or, La Poule au Pot, Mimosa and the various Clover addresses. His arrival at Jardin Tropezina marked a homecoming: the chef étoilé returns to Saint-Tropez thirty-five years after his first job in the region, a reunion with the Côte d'Azur that frames the whole summer season at this address. At Jardin Tropezina he cooks a generous, sun-driven Mediterranean cuisine built around the fresh produce of this stretch of coast.

Insider tip

Lunch service runs daily through early January; reservations open one month ahead; no online beach bookings.

03The cooking

Piège's card leans on seasonal salads, grilled fish and meat, and bright, citrus-sharp desserts. The MICHELIN inspectors single out local tromboncino with a tonnato and parmesan sauce, barbecued fish fillet with a tangy sabayon, and a garden verbena ice cream among the dishes that focus on summer, Provençal and Italian ideas. Octopus with olive oil, sumac and chickpea; John Dory from the barbecue; langoustine, lobster, veal chop on the embers and lamb skewer; and seasonal vegetables running from tomato to artichoke complete a card built for long, unhurried lunches.

04What to order

On the restaurant's own English-language menu, the headline dishes are the authentic Niçoise Salad, Grilled Langoustine and a Provençal-style Lamb Estouffade, alongside fish and meat cooked simply from the grill. For dessert, Chef Piège's fruity and frosted creations are built for the heat of a Pampelonne afternoon. The MICHELIN-noted tromboncino with tonnato and parmesan, and the barbecued fish fillet with sabayon, are worth asking for if they are running that day.

05When to go and booking

The beach club itself, including sun loungers and the bar, runs on a longer daily schedule through the summer season. Reservations for the restaurant open one month ahead and the beach cannot be booked online; tables are best secured by phone or email well before a summer weekend.

06The neighbourhood

Jardin Tropezina sits on the same stretch of Pampelonne that has drawn luxury houses to open beach addresses in recent seasons, from Louis Vuitton's restaurant run by Arnaud Donckele and Maxime Frédéric to Jacquemus's first table, La Renaissance, and Dolce & Gabbana's Casa Amor beach club. The legendary Club 55, a Pampelonne institution, is a short walk along the sand, while the hotel itself, Château de La Messardière, watches over the bay from its nineteenth-century position above the coast.
