The Vineta occupies a century-old building on Cocoanut Row, steps from Worth Avenue's boutiques and galleries.

01The house

The building's history reads like a miniature history of Palm Beach itself. National Register of Historic Places. By the time it traded under the Chesterfield name, the former Leopard Lounge was, in its heyday, a popular Palm Beach night spot for celebrities and locals alike.

When Reuben Brothers took ownership in 2022, Oetker Hotels oversaw the rebuild. Architecture was handled by Spina O'Rourke + Partners, with the room count reduced from 57 to 41 to allow for a more generous sense of space. Tellingly, the group chose to resurrect the older of the building's names: Oetker Collection brought back the Vineta name that it held for over 50 years, heralding a bold new chapter in the building's nearly 100-year history.

02Rooms and suites

The 41 rooms and suites are organised across Superior, Deluxe, Prestige and Signature rooms, an Accessible Deluxe Room, One Bedroom Corner Suites and a single Presidential Suite, with sizes running from a compact Superior Room up to 48-50 square metre One Bedroom Corner Suites with courtyard or Palm Beach views. The colour palette runs to fresh blues and whites to reflect the luminosity of the ocean, with bespoke millwork and Italian stones throughout.

Insider tip

Book the restaurant online only; no spa on site, but in-room treatments can be arranged.

At the top of the house, the 1,360 square foot Presidential Suite delivers the property's most expansive guest accommodation and features the hotel's only soaking tub. Select second-floor rooms include Juliet balconies, a detail carried over from the original 1926 structure.

03Where to eat

Coco is the hotel's social centre, serving both indoors and in a courtyard where interiors nod playfully to the building's past life, with a concealed leopard motif recalling the storied Leopard Lounge. The kitchen is overseen by Sébastien Broda, Executive Chef of sister property Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, working alongside Pastry Chef Tarek Ahamada on a menu that brings signature Riviera dishes — including Steak Diane and the Eden Roc Sea Bass — to Palm Beach, alongside new creations devised specifically for Coco.

The restaurant offers 96 seats in total — 64 seats in the dining room and 32 more located in the courtyard, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Booking is online only; the restaurant does not take reservations by phone or email.

04The bar

Where Chesterfield regulars once gathered beneath the Leopard Lounge's trademark prints, The Bar at The Vineta now welcomes neighbors and friends for afternoon cocktails, apertifs, and post-gala sips. It is a sophisticated space serving light bites at the bar, not full meals, and the MICHELIN Guide counts it among the hotel's three social spaces, alongside Coco and the self-explanatory semi-outdoor Pool House.

05Pool and wellbeing

There is no spa or gym on site. Instead, wellbeing is delivered to the room: a fitness cart stocked with weights, kettlebells and yoga accessories arrives on demand, and treatments can be arranged in-room rather than in a dedicated spa. The pool at The Vineta is the original footprint from 100 years ago — a petite and perfect place to take a dip — and is reserved for hotel guests only.

Among the more theatrical touches is a roving trolley service that delivers house-made gelato to the pool, Champagne service at sunset, or fitness gear, skincare, and Hibiki whisky directly to your room, with curated skincare by Dr. Barbara Sturm and chilled pours of Champagne Barons de Rothschild among the offerings.

06The neighbourhood

The Vineta is located in the heart of Palm Beach, just two blocks from Worth Avenue and a short walk from the beach. Within easy reach are Worth Avenue, the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, The Society of the Four Arts, Everglades Club, The Royal Poinciana Plaza, and Pan's Garden. For getting about, guests can call on the hotel's bicycles and electric Moke beach cruiser rentals for exploring the surrounding area, including the Norton Museum of Art and the vibrant Clematis Street in West Palm Beach.
